We take great pride in our clinical team. They are talented, passionate and dedicated to helping you regain an active, athletic lifestyle. Each one of our expert physical therapists are licensed in the state of Texas by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners.
Ryan Holloway, PT, DPT, Director of Clinical Services
Originally from Belton, Texas, Ryan attended Texas State University in San Marcos, where he received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy, along with Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Science. Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife Emily and their dogs, Nico and Isabell, catching up on the latest movies, and trying to find the best pizza and cup of coffee in town. He has a passion for working with athletes, and is starting a sports manual fellowship through the Institute for Athlete Regeneration.
Monica Battafarano, PT, DPT
Monica is originally from “Countdown City” San Antonio, TX. She attended the University of Texas where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology, with a concentration in Social Aspects of Health. She went on to receive a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Texas State University, and is currently enrolled in the IAR (Institute for Athlete Regeneration) Orthopedic Fellowship. Monica spends her time outside of Sports Center constantly trying to outsmart her dog and keep a good work-life balance of exercise, adventure, and laughter.
Sports Center was founded in 2003 by Doug Kelsey, PT, PhD. He previously served as Assistant Dean at the University of Oklahoma PT School, and was a Clinical Content Expert in Orthopedics (determined questions and testing for the specialty board exams) for the American Physical Therapy Association.
A pioneer at heart, Doug invented and patented anti-gravity exercise equipment. He also developed the Target Tissue Training method of physical therapy which targets and treats the source of your injury rather than simply masking the pain.
With the sale of Sports Center to Prasad Pothini in 2013, Doug retired from physical therapy, and can now be found at www.dougkelsey.com.
Sports Center’s current physical therapists continue to practice Doug Kelsey’s techniques and unique Target Tissue Training system to get the outstanding results that Sports Center is widely known for.
