Where to Start and What You'll Need
In the State of Texas, you can see a physical therapist for a consultation without a referral from a medical practitioner. And, although the law also permits treatment without a referral, the requirements under the law are so restrictive and confusing, it's simpler to obtain a referral from a licensed medical practitioner. To see us, you will need a referral from a medical practitioner. A referral can be verbal (your practitioner can call us) or a written document. The list of qualifying practitioners includes, physicians, dentists, chiropractors, podiatrists, and advanced nurse practitioners. We will gladly suggest a practitioner for you if you do not have one.
If you have had an orthopedic injury or surgery of the muscles, bones, or joints, call us at 512-206-0433 to schedule a consultation (We do not design rebuilding programs for surgeries or injuries of the hand or jaw.). The purpose of the consultation is to determine if you are a candidate for one of our rebuilding programs. If so, we'll explain in detail:
- The nature of the program.
- How long it will take to reach your objectives.
- How often you must work with us in Sports Center.
- The criteria for graduation to an independently directed program.
If you are not a candidate for one of our rebuilding programs, we'll explain why and do our best to refer you to the appropriate provider or facility.
The steps to take to see us are:
- Call us to make an appointment at 512-206-0433.
- Download the Client Registration Form to fill out prior to your visit.
- Arrive fifteen minutes before your scheduled consultation to complete the registration process.
- Bring shorts, t-shirt, and running shoes or a pair of comfortable shoes.
Fees and Health Insurance
You're probably wondering, "Will they take my insurance? Are they on my plan? How much will this cost?" Many of our clients use their third party payer insurance to help them cover the cost of our services. We are in-network providers for some insurance networks. Out-of-pocket expenses vary depending on insurance benefits.Call us at (512) 206-0433 and we will gladly check with your insurance carrier about your coverage and explain to you exactly what to expect.

My experience here exceeded my expectations. I never thought that I would feel this good this soon. The staff were all fantastic, their instructions were clear, their expectations reasonable and they did a great job explaining the purpose of each exercise. If anyone I knew needed physical therapy I would definitely recommend Sports Center. I would tell them to trust the staff and do everything that they recommend and that if they do they will be back to normal before they know it.
Michael Moore
"They care about helping people to heal, they all have a positive attitude and make clients feel comfortable. Most importantly, they have the knowledge, experience and skills to DO what they say they do: help people get better. Thanks for all of your support and encouragement.
Leslie Cromwell (Yoga Instructor)
To me it meant hope. After my surgery I thought I was never going to return to my normal exercise routine. The atrophy in my leg was down right scary for me. I felt improvement every week. The best part is the individual attention and knowing that everyone were a united front. Sports Center is in a league of its own. There is physical therapy and there is Sports Center. I would recommend Sports Center to everyone who wants quality results."
